Home internet is a liability during the Globex week.

Futures don't stop for your router firmware update. A held position on ES or CL is exposed to gap risk any hour of the night, and residential ISPs pick the worst moments to drop packets. A dedicated remote instance keeps your platform running, your brackets active, and your workspace intact from bell to close.

Contract rollover without a scramble

ES, NQ, CL, GC all roll every quarter. Your VPS keeps the front-month + back-month charts loaded so you can migrate positions on the roll date without rebuilding workspaces from a laptop on a plane.

Margin calls at 3am don't wait

Overnight margin on futures is often 2–5× intraday. A power blip at home during Asian hours can leave a position exposed. Your instance stays online, so stops, brackets and ATMs keep working.

Globex covers 23 hours. Your rig shouldn't sleep

CME Globex runs Sunday 5pm CT to Friday 4pm CT with a one-hour daily maintenance break. A VPS is the only realistic way to hold a strategy active through the full weekly session.

Handles the open-outcry moments

8:30 CT economic releases (CPI, NFP, FOMC) push CL and ZB volume 20× in seconds. Dedicated cores mean your DOM keeps repainting while retail platforms freeze.

Every serious futures platform, tuned.

Windows Server 2022 with .NET, JRE and C++ redistributables preinstalled, so you can install NinjaTrader or Sierra Chart in the first RDP session.

Futures-specific questions, answered.

All the major ones: NinjaTrader 8, Sierra Chart, Tradovate, TradeStation, MotiveWave, and Jigsaw. Sierra Chart is the lightest on RAM but hungry on single-core clock speed; NinjaTrader is the opposite. Session Pro and above are sized for either running simultaneously.

Yes. Our Chicago and NY4 nodes are provisioned with clean TCP paths to Rithmic (Aurora / Chicago) and CQG Continuum gateways. No consumer NAT, no ISP throttling on market-open bursts. Both feeds are officially supported by the platforms we host and we've tuned firewall rules so port 3010 (Rithmic) and CQG API traffic flow without dropped ticks.

Yes, when your platform supports it. Sierra Chart has continuous contracts (#F suffix) that auto-splice, and NinjaTrader lets ATM strategies migrate on rollover date. Because the VPS stays online 24/5, scheduled rollover actions actually fire, unlike a home PC that might be asleep at 6pm CT on rollover day.

The exchange is closed, not the server. Your VPS stays running, your platform stays open, and reconnection happens automatically when Globex reopens at 6pm CT. No manual restart needed on Sunday evening either.

Yes. Prop firms explicitly allow VPS execution and most of their traders use one to survive the drawdown rules. A stalled fill during a news spike is often what blows an evaluation. Session Pro is the most common tier for a single-account evaluation; Globex Elite for combined-account funded traders.

Windows Server 2022 by default: NinjaTrader, Sierra Chart, Tradovate desktop, and TradeStation are all Windows-native. Linux is available if you're running Python execution against a broker API (Interactive Brokers TWS gateway, Rithmic R|API+, or a custom TT SDK integration).

Stay in the market for the whole Globex week.
