Is this VPS colocated with US exchanges?

No. Our servers are in Germany and the Netherlands. US exchanges run their matching engines in New Jersey, so orders from our servers cross the Atlantic. That's fine for discretionary, swing and most day trading, where a stable, always-on connection matters more than the last millisecond. For latency-sensitive strategies, use a provider colocated in New Jersey.

Which brokers work best on this VPS?

ThinkOrSwim (Schwab), Interactive Brokers TWS, TradeStation, Lightspeed and DAS Trader Pro are the workhorses and all run on Windows Server. IBKR's API gateway (both TWS API and IBKR Web API) runs fine too, which is useful if you're running Python or C# order routing.

Can I run pre-market and after-hours sessions?

Yes, that's exactly what the VPS is for. Pre-market on ThinkOrSwim starts at 4:00 ET; extended hours on IBKR run 4:00 – 20:00 ET. Your platform, watchlists and scanners stay connected the whole time, so you don't miss a 4:30 AM earnings gap because your laptop was closed.

What about multi-monitor layouts?

Windows Server supports RDP MultiMon: you can drag ToS, IBKR TWS, and a scanner across 2–4 local monitors while the remote instance renders each display. The Pro plan and above have the vCPU headroom to render 4 monitors of real-time charts without frame drops.

Does this help with day-trading pattern-day-trader rules?

The VPS doesn't change PDT rules. Those are broker/account level. But it does prevent the ugliest PDT scenario: getting locked out of an exit because your home internet dropped mid-trade. A stable connection to your broker is often what separates a small loss from a margin call.

How fast can I be trading?

Usually within a few minutes of your Bitcoin, USDT or Monero payment confirming. RDP credentials are emailed instantly on provisioning. Installing ThinkOrSwim or IBKR TWS takes another 3–4 minutes and you're logged into your broker before the next candle prints.
